POPE'S PRAYER INTENTION - DECEMBER 2024
We pray that this Jubilee Year strengthen our faith, helping us to recognize the Risen Christ in our daily lives, and that it may transform us into pilgrims of Christian hope.
Monthly Prayer
What a joy to feel called
to be pilgrims of hope!
Joyful pilgrims, renewing our search
of the Risen Christ in the midst of life.
Father, we want to live this time
making our way with your Son Jesus,
embracing the cross of self-giving and service.
We want to give reason for our faith!
Proclaiming to the world that our faith is not in vain.
Our hope is not an illusion
nor our pains are dead ends!
Our life is a journey, a pilgrimage,
following one person, Christ,
source of Life!
We celebrate the fact that we are children of a living God
who acts and blesses us,
for whom we are all beloved children.
Christ is our destiny and our way!
Amen.
Offering Prayer
Good Father, I know you are with me.
Here I am on this new day.
Place my heart once more
next to the Heart of your Son Jesus,
who is giving himself for me and who comes to me in the Eucharist.
May your Holy Spirit make me his friend and apostle,
available for his mission of compassion.
I place in your hands my joys and hopes,
my works and sufferings, everything that I am and have,
in communion with my brothers and sisters of this Worldwide Prayer Network.
With Mary, I offer you my day for the mission of the Church
and for the prayer intentions of the Pope and my Bishop for this month.
Amen.

RECOGNIZING THE RISEN CHRIST
"The forthcoming Jubilee can contribute greatly to restoring a climate of hope and trust as a prelude to the renewal and rebirth that we so urgently desire; that is why I have chosen as the motto of the Jubilee, Pilgrims of Hope. This will indeed be the case if we are capable of recovering a sense of universal fraternity." (Pope Francis)
Prepare yourself for the Jubilee Year by observing the signs of the Risen One in what you live, and in the people around you.
SEEING, HEARING, FEELING
“God sees the distress of his people and their cry; deeply moved, he comes down to deliver them. (cf. Ex 3:7-8) The Church, by her listening, enters into the movement of God who, in his Son, draws near to every human being." (Pope Francis)
Look at the faces of those who cross your path. Listen to what they say beyond their words. Ask the Risen One to make yur heart like his to sympathize with them.
RECEIVING TRUE LIFE IN THE LIGHT OF THE RESURRECTION

Já vi que a consciência das necessidades do próximo não se dá em todas as pessoas. O amor não é só o impulso espontâneo que nos impele para outra pessoa ou uma inclinação emocional em direção a outrem. O amor é pensar como é que eu posso fazer o outro mais feliz e FAZÊ-LO. Por isso é que não estamos habituados a amar aqueles de quem não gostamos, muito menos quem nos faz mal. O amor tem de ser, sobretudo, uma decisão pensada para além do sentimento de gostarmos ou não do próximo ou de nós mesmos.
